“Under provincial statute, permits are required for entrances, building and signs adjacent to The King’s Highway and Secondary Highways. For information, contact Ministry of Transportation Ontario District Office”
And then again in French.
MTO posts these signs to inform the public that there are restrictions regarding what can be done in the vicinity of provincial highways. By tightly controlling the highway’s right-of-way, MTO can ensure that the road safely and efficiently operates in the manner that they see best.
